My relocation to Fairhope, Alabama was not a necessary one. Moving from the beautiful mountains of Colorado, I didn't need much more. As a matter of fact, I had all I could ask for. Since my arrival in this hidden paradise, I have met people that have nothing but wonderful things to say about this community. My favorite remains from a client and now dear friend. "People don't come here to wait to die. They come here to begin real living".
After meeting so many people who have relocated to Fairhope, AL, from all over the country, it amazed me at the compassion, kindness, and neighborly environment Fairhope, Alabama continues to maintain.
Education, family, arts and crafts, biking, kayaking, music, and just simply walking and enjoying the waters of Mobile Bay is what matters to people here in Fairhope, Alabama. As a client once said, "even though the cars are fancy, the people aren't" and "we love being able to enjoy the beauty of the beach and the friendly downtown businesses all in the same walk". Those interested in Fairhope AL Real Estate should also know that downtown Fairhope is the location of many music festivals, art walks, and fine dining restaurants where people greet one another with that southern, friendly charm.

On your way toward the Mobile bay, you can see the entrance to the pier, just a few steps away from downtown Fairhope, AL. It is covered with beautiful fragrant roses that surround a cool, clean fountain. There is also a beach area that includes a duck pond, swings, slides and monkey bars on which people can play, all the while offering a path for those avid runners, walkers, bikers, and roller-bladers.
Recently called "one of the country's best kept surprises" in a 2007 edition of Coastal Living magazine, Fairhope, Alabama was founded in 1894 as a single tax colony by a group of economists. Fairhope, Alabama is one of two single tax colonies remaining in the United States. The purpose of forming this new colony was to establish a model colony free from all forms of private monopoly. This single tax colony still exists today to retain the value of the land for the community.
Whether buying a second home, retiring, building your Fairhope custom luxury home, selling, relocating or just visiting, the waters on Mobile Bay are beautiful to view. The Fairhope, Alabama pier is for the young and the old alike. Just last week our class went down to the beach by the pier and placed nets on the bottom of the bay.
To the children's surprise, there was a variety of shrimp, crabs, mullets, comb jellies and much more for them to explore! Maybe next year they'll get to see a Jubilee-a phenomena where flounder, shrimp, crabs and other fish will float to the top of the waters and can be easily captured with your nets! This only happens once or twice a year, but word gets out fast and all come running with their nets!
Owners of Fairhope AL Real Estate are very excited to live in a place where life is worth living. They also love the fact that areas such as Mobile, AL, Pensacola, FL, and the "Big Easy", New Orleans, are so easily accessible. When asked by former clients as to why they chose Fairhope, AL for their retiring or relocation destination, they gave me several answers, one being "Fairhope is a city where you can be anything you want to be and you will be warmly welcomed".
