A jubilee is a rare phenomenon that brings fish, shrimp, flounder, catfish and crab to the surface of the water, making it easy for people to scoop them out and fill up their ice chest. This causes great rejoicing and celebration among the people!!
There are a variety of activities to do in Daphne, Alabama. Many family events are planned focusing on art's and craft's, children's activities, music and entertainment, and of course, food! The spring brings Daphne's annual Easter egg hunt for all children. The child that finds the special egg with a prize in it gets to choose from an array of prizes. It's wonderful to see the children and parents with their easter egg baskets full of plastic eggs! This event also offers pony rides, face painting, space walks, train rides, a petting zoo and the kids get a picture with the Easter bunny. All festivities are free. There are also food vendors serving hot dogs, soft drinks and popcorn.

Music is also important to those living in Daphne, Alabama. Each year at the Daphne Civic Complex Plaza, there is a 3 day outdoor concert series encompassing different types of music, such as Jazz, Rock and Motown. This is also a free event!! Vendors are available to provide food, beverages and merchandise for purchase. Lawn chairs are welcome.
